Editor's Pick: 4 Of The Best 2024 UI trends

Editor's Pick: 4 Of The Best 2024 UI trends

05 Apr 2024

Like many UX/UI buffs, I spend far too much time scouring sites such as Dribbble or Behance looking through the greatest and latest designs and graphics from around the world.

Here are my top 4 favourite 2024 UI trends so far;

Deconstructed Hero Sections:

I'm seeing increasingly more innovative approaches to the hero section of websites, which is essentially the billboard for a brand. Designers are breaking down conventional norms and deconstructing these hero sections by incorporating bold typography, unaligned images, and captivating content snippets. This departure from the ordinary grabs users' attention and sets the tone for an immersive user experience, fostering curiosity and engagement from the outset.

3D Graphics:

Three-dimensional graphics continue to amaze me every time I see them, propelled by advancements in computing power and cost-effective graphic development, these graphics just can't be beaten. What sets this trend apart is its versatility; from ordinary landing pages to intricate online stores, 3D elements add depth and visual intrigue. Today's 3D graphics aren't just static; animations breathe life into these virtual worlds, enhancing user engagement and interaction.

Complex Gradients:

Complex gradients are back in vogue, accompanied by the resurgence of glassmorphism and neumorphism. This trend is so refreshing! Wherever I see glass morphism/neumorphism used, it immediately catches the eye and gives a futuristic and sleek aesthetic. This interplay of light and shadow adds depth to interfaces, creating a sense of realism and modernity. Perfect for Web3 projects and digital products, these design elements evoke a sense of technological sophistication.

Off-White Aesthetic:

A subtle yet significant shift in colour aesthetics is underway and we are all here for it! With off-white emerging as the new white in UI design. This warm and inviting hue adds a touch of sophistication to digital interfaces, creating a chic yet approachable ambience. By prioritising user comfort and visual harmony, designers are crafting experiences that feel contemporary and welcoming, striking a delicate balance between modernism and classic refinement.
